Not long ago, we updated you on a research study on the effectiveness of FLIP IT completed by Miami University. This study contributed to the research base for FLIP IT by showing what we already knew – FLIP IT works! The study found that FLIP IT can be an effective strategy for decreasing children’s behavior problems, anxiety, depression, withdrawal, or delinquent behavior while also increasing their initiative, attachment, and self-regulation after only one parent training session.
With the release of this exciting new evidence on the effectiveness of FLIP IT, the state of Ohio has decided to add FLIP IT to their Quality and Effective Practice Registry. This Registry is a listing of successful strategies and programs that achieve positive outcomes related to academic and social-emotional needs of students. We are excited for FLIP IT’s inclusion on the Registry to help more teachers and parents discover this simple, kind, and strength-based strategy for addressing challenging behavior in young children. The online registry entry is coming soon, but in the meantime, you can read more about the research that led to this decision here.
